Sensei's Notes

Monday, May 03, 2004

Obtained the lost scroll of the Yamabushi today. It is in pretty good shape considering it is over 1200 years old. I pried up some floor boards in my bedroom, hid it, replaced the boards, and covered it up with a throw rug. I sure would hate for anything to happen to it before I find the time to begin translating it.

I am certain that the forces of Darkness will try to prevent the Light from being transmitted. If I can see into the distant future I must assume that they can do the same. I must be vigilant!

Light and Darkness

How can you really tell who's who without a scorecard? Light, by it's very nature must embody extreme simplicity. Anything that is too complex is of the Darkness. The Darkness is smooth and polished, and the Light is like an uncarved block of wood, or an unpolished stone. Darkness is fluent, while Light is obscure.

"The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple
as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something
so paradoxical that no one will believe it."
- Bertrand Russell

Note: As you visit these websites try to see what will be useful for the Shugendo community, and try not to fall into error. For instance: the Ultimate Reality (God or Tao) does not need our worship, adoration or approval. The Ultimate Reality requires that we be One with it. This distinction may seem minor, but it is of paramount importance that it be understood.
